Our mission is not just a statement; it’s a promise, a promise to support and promote endeavors that empower each and every one of you. We believe in the power of education and workforce, the opportunities it brings, and the potential it unlocks. Our aim is clear: to advance your socioeconomic status and enhance your quality of life right here in the vibrant city of Pharr. I want to express our gratitude to the esteemed members of our Board of Directors, whose guidance and commitment drive our foundation’s initiatives forward. We also extend our appreciation to our dedicated City Officials, whose vision and leadership have helped pave the way for positive changes since 2021 in the city of Pharr, and the unwavering support of our business community supporters and partners, who have stood with us in our mission to uplift our community.

In every step we take, in every program we launch, and in every partnership we forge, it is your dreams and aspirations that fuel our efforts. We are here to be your committed companion on your journey towards a brighter future.

Director’s Message

A solid education equips learners with the perspective they need to clearly look at the world and our society.

In 2021, the Pharr EDC, with the full support of the City of Pharr, created the Pharr EDC Foundation; its goal is to support opportunities for our students
to develop in-demand skills through education. Our scholarship program was created as one of these opportunities.

Foundation, with the support and assistance of the City of Pharr, the Foundation Board of Directors, and the general business community, was able to help (120) students through our scholarship program in 2021. In April 2022, we had the blessing through the same support and new efforts to help to assist close to (140) students. All these efforts target our main mission of developing and promoting the city’s future workforce, since a strong workforce with an in-demand skillset and core values is a determinant for business success.

I am grateful to be surrounded by a wonderful Board of Directors, City Officials, and business community supporters like you, that have a shared vision for
relevance and growth in favor of this principle.

As Director of the PEDC Foundation, I’m devoting efforts in aims to creating other programs that complement this vision, such as the creation of vanguard internships for different business sectors to strengthen alliance and partnership with the educational sector as well as the business community.

I am humbly honored to come on-board since February 2022, granting me the opportunity to actively contribute to the growth of the organization as well as an entity in our community. Thank you for your trust!
